Miracle League action on Halloween, October 31, 2009, was a “spirited” affair. It was incredible watching the interaction among our players, buddies, coaches and volunteers in costume. Young and old alike celebrated the day in a wide variety of attire. Comic book heros were particularly well represented with several Spidermen, Supermen, Superwomen and Batmen. Who can forget the memorable call of our announcer Alan Moore of “We’ve got Superheroes on the corners” when Batman was on first and Spiderman was on third. That one will surely make it into the announcer’s Hall of Fame.
Or how about the Stay Puft marshmallow manning the barbeque? We were lucky she didn’t catch on fire. That would have been some mess. On the other hand, it would have been real cool if we had large enough graham crackers and Hershey bars. We could have made the world’s biggest smore!
